Learning from Home

At Ickworth Park Primary School, our priority is for children to attend school and benefit from high-quality teaching. However, there may be occasions when learning from home is necessary.

In these situations, we are committed to ensuring that children can continue their learning through a clear and consistent approach.

Remote learning may be provided when:

  • The school is closed due to exceptional circumstances
  • A class or group is unable to attend
  • An individual child cannot attend school but is well enough to learn

Our approach

We aim to provide learning that follows the same curriculum as in school wherever possible.

We use Class Dojo as our main platform. Through this, teachers will:

  • Set daily learning activities
  • Provide instructions and resources
  • Give feedback where appropriate
Short-term absence
  • Learning will be set as soon as possible
  • This will focus on key subjects such as English and maths
Ongoing remote learning
  • Daily tasks will be set via Class Dojo
  • This will include English, maths and wider curriculum work
  • Learning may include recorded teaching, independent tasks and reading
How much work will be provided?

As a guide:

  • Key Stage 1: around 3 hours per day
  • Key Stage 2: around 4 hours per day
Supporting your child

We ask that parents:

  • Help establish a routine
  • Encourage completion of learning
  • Contact school if support is needed

We understand that home learning can be challenging and will work with families where needed.

Access to learning

If you have difficulty accessing Class Dojo:

  • Please contact the school office
  • We can provide support, including paper-based work where needed
