Science
What does science look like at Ickworth Park?
At Ickworth Park we follow the scheme Snap Science from Year 1-Year 6. Within each module 'the big ideas' are visible and each lesson is based around a meaningful question which encourages children to think and work scientifically. This make the lessons fun, interactive and clear progression is made.
Within the Early Years, their science is based around the curriculum area, Understanding the World and is integrated throughout their day-to-day. Using the extensive grounds at school, the Early Years learn through activities including pond dipping, bulb planting and life cycles.
STEM WEEK
As a whole school, we celebrate STEM week which is in line with British Science week. Our next STEM week will be from 10th-14th March 2025 and will be under the theme of 'Adapt and Change'.
Over the week we will welcome STEM ambassadors to school, take part in different workshop and meet members of the school community who work in the field of STEM. The week ends with a STEM fair for parents and friends of the school where each class celebrates what they have been doing over the week.
